2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,600 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 4 years to get that many views.

  1. I like the Mt. Everest association! I got here typing wordpress and arvon to see if any writing tutors had blogs. Then I liked the fact that you were a writer and a performer! I’m not all that keen on looking at my stats page because I got 4% in a maths exam when I was nine and was brought up in front of the class and humiliated so numbers make me close my mind. But I like looking at the search terms that bring people to my blog. ‘On the verge of wetting myself,’ caught my eye. I thought – why are they typing into google when they should be running to a toilet? I digress. But I’m looking forward to following you – I’m in Oxford too. I teach a workshop on Oxford Uni’s Creative Writing MA. Brooks told me they didn’t have the budget for another visitor sadly.

    • Thanks, Gabriela! The number crunching was all WordPress. Nothing to do with me at all. It does it all for you. Good eh? YOu teach at Oxford Uni – do you know Jane Draycott and Jenny Lewis?

      • Oops – I thought you were a computer genius as well! I only teach on the summer school when the MA students come for their residency. So it’s usually only Clare Morgan there. (I’m quite small change ;-))
